Day after the day before

March 2
Went into Watford with Aunt. Bus drivers are actually friendly unlike the snarly bastards in Perth. The place has changed so much since I was last here – 25years ago OMG. Tristan was a baby in arms. I bought some new pj pants for ₤3 and a black wrap for Equus. It is going to be way too cold for just the green thingy I bought.

Watford is a bit grotty - lots of pigeon poo. Many of the old shops have been replaced by a large multi storey shopping centre, the Harlequin. Seems to have taken the heart out of the place really. Met cousin Claire and in the evening took both aunt and cousin to the local pub for dinner. Paid ₤2.65 for a stubbie of Becks beer. Confused the waiter by asking for salad with my steak – ‘you want salad instead of chips???’ Is it possible to have both I wondered. ‘Both,’ he said, unconvinced.

Slightly tipsy and giggly we walked back to the flat in the rain.
